Children
By Ken M.
If you read any book of scripture you will find it replete with God’s warnings to the people to change or make a correction in their behavior and/or lifestyle. God has the absolute power to admonish, punish and destroy, yet the dominate attribute that is found is Mercy. Why would mercy be so prevalent when direct disobedience is the order of the day? If we are reflections of God, then consider this in regards to your children if/when you have them: How many times do you warn them, plead with them, negotiate with them and try to get them to see their errant ways? Or get them to do what you are telling them to do for their OWN benefit? How long does your mercy predominate in their lives before (finally) some measure of punishment or chastisement is exacted? And then how does that make you feel? It’s not pleasant to punish what you love. Even if deserved… Then how much more pain does God feel to exact on us a fraction of what we deserve? With this in mind it’s much easier to see why mercy (undeserved kindness) is so predominant in the stories of scripture.

Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. KJV Undeserved kindness? I have heard that before.
